Firewood (Kiln Dried)
Kiln-Dried firewood is the best firewood product available. We recommend this product not only to inexperienced firewood burners, but also for anybody expecting extremely easy to light, hassle-free firewood experiences. Most people in our area burn wood for ambiance and relaxation, ourselves included. If you fall into this category, we highly recommend you consider this firewood product.
Kiln-Dried firewood lights easier, burns hotter, and produces virtually zero smoke. Kiln-Dried wood burns so efficiently because the flame does not waste any energy boiling water out of the log, so hardly any ash or soot is left after the fire is done, leaving no messy fireplace.
What makes Kiln-Dried Firewood different is that the wood cooks in the kiln for over 24 hours, with chamber temperatures staying steady at 250 degrees. This kills all bugs and mold, and brings moisture content consistently to the 8-12% range. Regular seasoned firewood can be anywhere from 12-25%. What to expect in a QRP firewood delivery:

- Quantity will always be as advertised, or more.
- The length of our pieces will always average 16″, 10% or less may be longer or shorter.
- The diameter of each piece will vary from 1-7″. We estimate in each delivery that you can expect 60% of the wood pieces to be 5-7″ in diameter, 30% to be 2-5″, and 10% to be 1-3″ in diameter.
- We split our wood with two 16 way wedges, one of which produces all square pieces. Be aware that in your order you will find both triangular shaped and square/rectangular shaped pieces.
- There will ALWAYS be some scraps leftover. In a full cord, we expect it to be about four wheelbarrows or less. This is all burnable kindling that you can either use to build your fire.

Seasoned Firewood
Seasoned Firewood is our basic, and cheaper firewood product. Compared to our kiln-dried product, seasoned firewood will usually be dirtier, and will always be much more difficult to light. Because seasoned wood is set out to dry in the elements, some pieces may have mold on them, and could even have bugs. Our seasoned firewood will have a consistent moisture content between 15-30%. Because seasoned wood is stored in the elements, often times it will have surface moisture on the logs from rain when it is delivered. This could make lighting or burning seasoned firewood an unpleasant experience for the first two to three weeks after we deliver. For the ultimate firewood experience anytime, we highly recommend our kiln dried wood.
Our seasoned firewood is a mixture of hardwoods that are all safe to burn inside your home.

Quick Facts About Firewood:
-In general, seasoned wood has a moisture content of 20% or less. The term “seasoned” is solely referring to whether or not the wood has an acceptable moisture content for burning. In most cases, it takes freshly cut “green” wood 90 days to dry out to the point where it can be considered seasoned. Our wood has typically been in split firewood form for 6-9 months.
-A cord is 128 cubic feet of tightly STACKED firewood. That typically means stacked 8 feet wide, 4 feet deep, and 4 feet tall. We deliver in loose bulk form, and have calculated exactly how much we must load in loose form for it to equal 128 cubic feet once it has been stacked.
-Kiln-Dried firewood is always going to be the best firewood experience, however, due to the cost to run the kiln and the labor that goes into loading and unloading it, kiln-dried wood will always be more expensive. Our recommendation to have the best firewood experience is to either buy seasoned or unseasoned wood in the Summer months, and control the dryness by further seasoning it yourself, or pay the extra money for a Kiln-Dried product. There is nothing worse than being smoked out of your own house trying to burn wet wood, and we will go to all lengths to help you prevent that from happening.
